Apply now ASC/ ASD TA / PMLD TA / SEN TA, West Yorkshire Summary Empowering Learning are currently recruiting a number of energetic, fully committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants for Special schools in Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees. Successful candidates will be supporting students with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting students with special educational needs. We are specifically looking for support staff with a particular specialism such as PMLD, SLD and ASC/ ASD. We welcome candidates with care worker background and who have previously worked in hospitals and nurseries as well as recent graduates who are looking to build their experience working with SEN pupils. We also welcome actors and actresses who are interested in supporting students with special needs. Main Duties You will be supporting students with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Some students will have physical disabilities and will use a wheelchair. They will also communicate non-verbally, so being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal. You will also assess individual learning needs and work on a group basis. Requirements Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils is essential.
