Apply now Easter start, full time, KS3-KS5, long term, paid to MPS scale Hays Education are very proud to be working on behalf of a large, Ofsted 'Outstanding' Academy in Sandwell to recruit for an Accounts and Business Studies teacher to start from Easter 2018. This is a full time teaching role across KS3 to KS5 offered on a long term, temporary basis.Your new school This Academy has 900, 11 to 16 year old students on roll with an intake of 180 in each year group and a Post 16 centre with just over 200 students, though this is increasing annually. Over the past few years the Academy has gained a reputation for effective use of technology to improve standards, innovative curriculum design and embedding new approaches to learning. The Academy has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted in 2006, 2010 and 2013. Significant curriculum innovations have played a large part in the Academy's success. The Academy offers an integrated, competency assessed (without levels structure), thematic curriculum at KS3 and a weekly extended period of time (focus days) to students in KS4 and KS5. This has provided increased enriched activities to students as well as a platform for excellent controlled assessment delivery. The Academy is a teaching school (one of only three in deprived areas) and was the National Pupil Premium winner for the West Midlands in 2015. The Academy is also running large scale research project with the Education Endowment Fund and 24 local primary schools, and has written 6 technology enabled educational toolkits for the Examination Board, OCR.They expect their students to work independently and to work with others, to have enthusiasm for their studies but to have resilience when things do not quite go to plan and to care for themselves and for others. Your new role In your new secondary teaching job you will be expected to plan interesting and challenging Accounts and Business Studies lessons that will engage pupils and you will have the natural ability to deliver them with confidence and enthusiasm. The role is offered on a full time basis and is due to start in September 2017. You will need to be experienced teaching up to KS5 and be familiar with the current curriculum. Due to the nature of the role it is offered as a 'paid to scale' post (MPS/UPS). What you'll need to succeed To be successful in your new teaching job you will have completed your studies and hold UK QTS. You will be an experienced Accounts and Business Studies teacher that is passionate about student progress and is committed to helping pupils to achieve their academic potential. The ideal candidate would have been in a long term or permanent teaching role and will be able to supply Hays with outstanding references from the previous employer.
