On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an Animal Technician to join a team of licensed animal technicians at a state of the art animal facility who are passionate about understanding the role of genetics in health and disease and a world leader in genomic revolution. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to receive further training to continue their career progression. Basic Requirements: IAT Certificate or equivalentExperience in an animal facilityAwareness of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and the 3R'sAbility to keep neat and accurate recordsEffective at communicating and liaising with others. Desirable Skills: Hold a Home Office Personal LicencePrevious experience of handling and sexing offspringPrevious experience with rodents and/or fish and frogs and assisting with regulated procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: Providing food and water for the animals and organising special diets if neededCarrying out regular observations and health checksMaking sure the animals are clean, comfortable, and behaving as expectedKeeping high level of hygiene for each animal, and monitoring their weight and growthControlling heating, lighting and humidityKeeping accurate records and inputting data onto computer systemsParticipate in weekend work (approximately 1 weekend in 4) Agenda and its clients only recruit people who are passionate about animal care and welfare, people with integrity who are honest and trustworthy and who have a great work ethic.
