Apply on employer's website We are looking to appoint an Area Welfare Manager to organise and provide support to clients seeking welfare assistance. You will ensure that people eligible for support receive an efficient and effective service in line with the Association's welfare policies and where we are unable to help, that people are signposted to alternative sources of support. Area Welfare Manager Salary: *£32,540 - £34,250 (*) Starting salary Hours of work: Full time Location: Leicester Department: Welfare The Royal Air Forces Association is a membership organisation and registered charity that provides welfare support to the RAF family. Last year the Association carried out 13,800 home visits, told thousands of bedtime stories to children whose parents were away on operations, and gave tailored holidays to 2,500 RAF veterans, widows and family at our Wings Break hotels. You will ensure that people eligible for support receive an efficient and effective service in line with the Association's welfare policies and where we are unable to help, that people are signposted to alternative sources of support. The role is office based in Leicester with an occasional requirement to visit beneficiaries or volunteers within the area. You will be responsible for managing c200 volunteers providing them with supervision, support and guidance including allocating and managing caseloads. On occasions you will deliver presentations and support welfare training. Your role will be to foster and develop good working relationships with other charities and statutory services in the welfare sector. Our ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of health and social care, the benefits system, have excellent communication and IT skills, experience of leading and managing others and be able to work on their own initiative. You must be a proactive and decisive problem-solver who actively seeks ways to improve our services and processes.
