As part of their growth plans they are seeking to appoint a business development consultant to work within the Leeds and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will work to develop relationships with existing intermediaries in addition to targeting new partnerships through proactive networking. Your remit will be to develop and build long term relationships to maximise business from your area through selling in the benefits of the clients products to your panel. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the protection market coupled with the ability to influence and build credibility within a professional and competitive marketplace. You would have the ability to work on your own initiative planning your day to maximise business opportunities and support the intermediaries as required. The products are industry leading and the company name will be known by all. However this does not take away from the fact that you will need to be proactive in your business development to ensure your panels business is maximised. This is an employed role with a basic salary of £24,000 pa there is a significant bonus element to the role with an expectation to earn around £30,000 in the first year. Established BDM's are earning around £50-60,000 and the top ones significantly more. This role will suit someone who can deliver bottom line results through proactive planning, product and industry knowledge. You must be hungry to earn and have the ability to network for new clients whilst retaining and maximising existing ones.
