If so this role could be for you….The RoleBluefire Consulting are recruiting for an experienced Commercial Underwriter for one of their international clients working in the real estate/property insurance sector. This exciting opportunity will involve underwriting high net worth commercial legal indemnity risks and maintain existing client relationships with key decision makers within the UK's most prestigious law firms.Main duties will include:· Reviewing, evaluating and pricing cases by applying sound underwriting judgement and adhering to company policy and regulations with agreed authority limit· Negotiate and maximise business profitability by effective underwriting decision and techniques· Liaising with clients, solicitors and brokers in relation to insurance policies and resolve policy queries· Positively promote the company and department as a whole in order to maximise brand reputation· Provide technical training and development to other team members and colleagues across the department· Assisting the sales team as required in the development of relationships with clients and brokers through meetings, presentations and corporate events· Understand regulator environment and its requirements and keep abreast of changes in lawThe CandidateThe successful Commercial Underwriter must be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of defective title and its market and knowledge of commercial and residential property law. This is an outstanding opportunity for a solicitor/qualified lawyer or existing legal indemnity underwriter with property law experience. The ideal Commercial Underwriter must possess a professional attitude, effective time management and excellent presentation and negotiation skills. As the role will involve travel as required through the UK a full, valid UK driving licence and own car is necessary for this role although expenses will be covered.The ClientOur client are a market leader regulated provider of commercial legal indemnity insurance on an international scale who pride themselves in helping property owners.
