Apply now You will be responsible for the implementation, alignment and management of the UK Affiliate's data protection and data privacy compliance standards, policies, procedures and systems in accordance with the Data Protection 1998 and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Key Responsibilities: Data Protection: Primary point of contact in the UK Affiliate in relation to data protection and data privacy Advising the Affiliate on a wide range of data protection topics (data subject consents, privacy by design, direct marketing requirements, notice/consent data security, data sharing etc.) Working with internal Legal, OEC, Regulatory and Information Security teams. Developing and implementing policies, procedures, training and / or communications appropriate for all staff, to ensure the UK Affiliate is properly informed of data protection and privacy laws as appropriate in coordination with the Global Legal Privacy team and the network of DPLs. NHS Information Governance Toolkit (IGT): Managing the IGT systems and IGT activities in the Affiliate Sharing knowledge and appropriate training in relation to the IGT for the Affiliate Managing quarterly IGT Board meetings. Clinical Risk Management (CRM): Be the primary specialist point of contact in the UK Affiliate for all matters in relation to CRM Be responsible for the definition and implementation of all CRM activities in the UK Affiliate Develop and implement policies, procedures, training and / or communications appropriate for all staff, to ensure the UK Affiliate is compliant with CRM policies. Essential Skills/ Experience: Comprehensive practical knowledge of data protection issues affecting a variety of business transactions, including privacy and security, business, compliance and legal issues. Relevant legal or data protection qualification, accreditation or certification beneficial (CIPP-E, CIPM or similar) and an understanding of the technical implications of information security would be beneficial. Knowledge of IT Compliance, Systems Life Cycle, IGT and CRM would be beneficial. Ability to understand and explain complex data protection and privacy requirements and create effective commercial solutions. Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate legal advice in a business context. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across a global organisation. Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
