As an English language teacher working between 16-20 hours per week for a period of 12 months, you will be responsible along with your Chinese teaching assistant for planning and leading fun and engaging lessons that focus on practicing spoken English with a class of (up to 12 students) Your school will provide you with teaching materials and guidance, but you will be encouraged to use your imagination and creativity to make your classes special. Depending on the age and ability of your students, you will have a Mandarin-speaking assistant to support you at all times in the classroom. Your school will fully support you in class and out of class. Travel Opportunities Working in a Chinese training school gives teachers plenty of opportunities to travel both in China and further afield during time off and national holidays. Our teachers' visas allow them to come and go from China like the locals and the generous salaries offered by schools enable them to put money aside for exciting adventures during the week-long break in October and the long winter vacation. Each year a large percentage of teachers travel to exciting locations across China and Asia, including Zhangjiajie, Shangri-La, Guilin, Mongolia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar! A large percentage of teachers go on to do a second, third and even fourth year in China, either teaching or in a different industry.
