Apply now Job Description The role of the Operations Manager for Phlebotomy and Community Service is to ensure that the Pathology First service is well managed and in line with the contract service agreement. In summary, responsibilities include: To work with Phlebotomy team & Operational managers, Principal BMSs to ensure continuous improvement of services.To support the implementation of transformational projects within phlebotomy and community servicesTo work with key clinical leads in Trusts and Community to deliver a patient centred and cost-effective phlebotomy serviceTo ensure clinics and logistics are aligned such that sample quality is preservedEnsure that coaching/ staff engagement levels are high and best practice in people management is undertaken.To ensure and enable the QMS is embedded into everyday operationsTo ensure services are CQC/ GDPR and UKAS compliant Essential Skills and Experience HPC State Registration as a Biomedical ScientistMSc or equivalent level of qualification (by examination)Higher Management QualificationEDCL or equivalent IT qualificationProject management / process improvement methodologyGeneral pathology management expertiseKnowledge of Policies on Recruitment and Retention of staff, Management of Sickness Absence, Industrial Relations, Risk Management and Procurement.Presenting reports and business casesKnowledge of major incident planKnowledge of governance standardsTransformation experience About the Business Pathology First was formed in 2014 and is a joint venture between Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and private sector partners - Integrated Pathology Partnerships (iPP). Pathology First delivers full laboratory services to a population of 750,000 patients and over 100 GP practices in the South East.
