Basic Requirements: Hold a Home Office Personal LicenseExperience of working in an animal research unitPractical experience including daily husbandry, handling and restraint, and evidence of high standards of animal welfareExperience recording laboratory paperwork and using laboratory data systemsKnowledge of the Animal Scientific Procedures Act and associated Home Office legislationGood communication and organisational skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Actively use Personal License, performing regulated procedures in rodent and non-rodent speciesGeneral husbandry duties for a range of species, and conducting daily animal checks along with monitoring and recording animal's health through routine observationsAccurate record keeping, collecting data both manually and using electronic data capture systemsPerforming husbandry and technical proceduresWorking to a high standard of cleanliness and health and safety at all times.
