Apply now Salary: £30,000 to £34,000 The current work pattern is Monday to Friday 07.00 until 17.00 hrs. Every 3rd week you work the Saturday and Sunday but take 2 days off the next week. Purpose of the role Support the maintenance activity within the department (preventative and breakdown maintenance and improvement activities) to assist in the delivery of an effective operation on a day to day basis and in the future. Daily responsibilities Undertake a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance and condition monitoring for key equipment & machinery across the manufacturing areas, to ensure that machinery & equipment is maintained correctly and operates safely and as efficiently as possible.Prioritise activities such as reactive maintenance, breaks etc. in order to provide a fast response to breakdowns within the manufacturing areas to ensure that equipment "up time" is kept to a maximum.Actively support and encourage a programme of TPM and assist with the training of colleagues in the relevant activities, in accordance with H&S and engineering legislative codes of practice policies and procedures.Inform line management of any damage suspected of being due to mistreated use of equipment or machinery.Any tools or equipment that are used for maintenance purposes must abide by Health & Safety regulations and report to the Engineering Manager if this is not the case.To support with additional maintenance tasks across the UK sites as and when requested. Facility Maintenance Conduct weekly maintenance checks.Take active responsibility for all matters relating to on site water quality and safety and assist with planned legionella checks.Support with general office maintenance requests.Conducting frequent facility checks including emergency lighting checks.Completing racking repairs as required. Personal Skills & Experience Maintenance Engineer experience in a high volume, fast moving environment supplying retailers, ideally gained within the Fresh Produce or Horticultural sectors.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.Experience in maintaining standard industry machinery including conveyor belt systems, bucket fillers and strapping machines.
