Apply now Managing Director: A highly skilled Managing Director is required to work with the CEO to set strategy, lead, and manage an expanding charity that works with individuals, schools, local authorities, universities, DfE, National College, diocesan and private organisations to promote outstanding education leadership.As Managing Director, you will maintain a sustainable infrastructure underpinned by strong robust systems and reporting processes and lead the relationships with key clients and ensure delivery of all contracts to a high quality.Key Accountabilities:* Work with the CEO and Board of Trustees to develop a Strategic and implementation plan underpinned by financial planning and operational management* Develop, execute and embed a sustainable infrastructure that is underpinned by policies, processes, and reporting systems* Drive the growth in income to maintain an effective, financially sustainable infrastructure to take advantage of future opportunities alongside the CEO and Board of Trustees. Identify and implement new work streams which align with strategic objectives of the charity* To be accountable for the financial management of the charity to ensure it remains financially sustainable* Develop a strong sales and marketing function to meet the changing nature of professional development work in the education sector and ensure links are made to the re-branding guidelines* Build on and embed strategic relationships that enhance the national profile and reputation of the charity with key stakeholders* Implement a performance driven culture in the charity. This includes setting business goals, setting and reviewing objectives of direct reports, and ensuring managers manage their staff effectively* As the charity expands create and manage, over time, a highly effective operational team* Lead, on behalf of the CEO, the recruitment of all staff with line and performance management responsibilities for specific principles as designated by the CEO* Set a positive culture for all staff committed to the vision and values of the charityPerson Profile:* Highly skilled communicator. Ability to develop new and strengthen existing relationships* Track record in exceptional leadership and managerial experience having successfully delivered a range of projects/ products/services against contractual requirements* Demonstrate initiative and resilience to cope with changing circumstances, work under pressure, manage conflict and achieve constructive outcomes* Able to think clearly and strategically, inspire, motivate and empower to achieve* Able to set targets, timelines, plans and financial targets. Monitor and evaluate effectiveness* Display a clear understanding of the role of the charity and current issues in education, especially in leadership, school improvement and raising standards* Strong commitment to excellence and equality* Display a good understanding of social and educational inclusion, diversity, community cohesion and the challenges of building engagement* Having an entrepreneurial spirit to enable new and innovative business solutions* Service Delivery - Passion for providing a service that meets the needs of customers* Excellent commercial acumen, balance risk and reward for the benefit of the organisation* Able to network, build high-value relationships and negotiate for the benefit of the businessThis is an exciting opportunity for a proven Managing Director with proven leadership skills, knowledge of the current issues in education, and strong commercial acumen, to join the experienced and committed team at an ambitious, progressive and expanding charity.
