Apply now We are currently recruiting for a Materials Controller within a leading manufacturer based in the West Yorkshire region, with a long history and reputation for quality engineered products. The Materials Controller will be reporting to the Materials Manager, the successful candidate will form part of the supply chain team and want to drive significant impact on the way materials and supply is considered within the business.A Material Controller joins at an exciting time as the function is going through productive change to improve the materials. The attributes require that the candidate is expected to work under their own initiative with support from a senior management within a programme environment and in line with the task landscape ensuring successful deployment & on-time delivery achievement.The Material Controller's duties will include: *Drive any business case to implement new processes*Total New Model ownership and implementation with associated metric reporting*Support and drive solutions and cost down within both operational and new model launch set up*Support the cross-company ERP / MRP system and deploy developments as required*Enhance current business plans supporting industry leading KPIs*Drive continual improvement in the way the team operates across the business to incorporate improved lean practicesThe successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience: *Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and related experience - MCIPS / CIPS preferred*Demonstrable track record in purchasing *Excellent analytical skill*Good to advanced Excel skills - Micros / Pivot tables*Excellent material systems experience (or similar)*Knowledge of working in supply markets*Familiar with manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements*Ability to obtain appropriate market intelligence, analyse and provide concise updates to key stakeholders*Good verbal and written communication skills This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional to transition into a permanent position from a contract role, the Material Controller will join a thriving business as it enters an exciting period.
