As an Assistant Underwriter you will underwrite and develop the SME motor account, underwriting business in accordance with QBE SME business plan; whilst providing support on a technical and administrative level. Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to: Underwrite new and existing Motor productsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers Support the development of cross class business opportunitiesParticipate in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress towards business planPositively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverageComply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are metAdhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency Keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: Technical Motor experienceEducated to GCSE level or equivalentDesire to gain knowledge and skills in underwriting environmentStrong negotiation skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsOrganised approach with ability to work to deadlinesExceptional service skills and proven track record of maintaining relationshipsMarket awareness and broker development acumenAn understanding of the value of transacting business efficiently Experience of working on E-trade platforms advantageousAt QBE, we view our people as our most precious asset.
