Apply now Job Title: Operations Assistant (Health and Safety) Location: Manchester Salary: £20,000 - £23,000 Dependent on experience. Job type: Contract (11 Months - Maternity Cover) The Company is a top 200 Law firm that specialises in personal injury. They cover every area of personal injury including public liability, occupier's liability, road traffic accidents, employer's liability, industrial disease, serious injuries and clinical negligence matters. The Company is LEXCEL and Law Society accredited and is a Legal 500 Leading Firm for both Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. Six of their Partners are members of the Law Society Specialist Personal Injury Panel and one of them is a member of the Law Society Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel. The main focus of the maternity cover role (Dates confirmed as 11 months March 2018 - February 2019), will be to carry out the Health and Safety requirements of the Company with a view to implementing any improvements to systems, processes and training, providing an important quality control function across the organisation. In addition, this position will support the Operations Partner, in the co-ordination and management of office / facilities projects and the compliance management of systems and documentation. The role will also support the Managing Partner and other members of the senior management team, on a similar basis, as and when required. The Operations Assistant will be responsible for: Responsible for Health and Safety through effective operation of day to day policies and procedures, compliance with tests and reviews.Managing third party suppliers e.g. external cleaning companyUse of company vehicles to courier items when the firm's courier is absent / engaged elsewhereRegular walk arounds to check compliance.Recording data on Mfiles system to show compliance with Health and Safety reviewsKeeping the Managing Director and Operations Partner fully informed where changes are suggested. Things must be agreed before implementationDesk assessments and responsibly managing employees requestsOffice / facility planning for e.g. new desks for new employeesTransferring files on the Proclaim case management systemPresentation of management information;Auditing and quality control of information on client files;Assist with the correct implementation of regulatory requirements;Various ad hoc duties within the scope of the Operations / Facilities department. To be successful in the role you will: Essential criteria Health and Safety knowledge and experience of applying in an office settingFull driving licence (no more than 3 points on license)Strong analytical and problem solving skills;Strong communication skills and the capability to deal firmly with external parties where required to achieve desired results;Excellent organisation and time management skills;A positive attitude and ambition to succeed. Desirable criteria Experience of working in a professional or service industry;Proclaim software knowledge and experienceLexcel experienceCustomer service experience;Understanding of the legal industry and personal injury claims process. Working Hours: A degree of flexibility is essential due to the extended operating hours of the firm and around project or reporting deadlines. 08:30 to 17:30, Monday to Thursday. 08:30 to 17:00 Friday. The Company Offers: 20 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays rising by a day a year up to 23 days. In addition, the office is closed between Christmas and New Year and you will not be required to use your holiday allowance for this period.
