Apply now This role at a leading West end law firm is working 9.30am to 5.30pm to provide secretarial, administrative and paralegal support to the partners and associates in one of the leading Departments of this media and entertainment law firm. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Candidates should have some legal experience, and should have strong academics comprising of excellent A levels, a 2:1 degree (employment law electives ideal) and have ideally passed their LPC or in the final stages of completing it. This firm only recruits trainees from among their pool of paralegals so the opportunity for paralegals to progress to training contracts is huge (though never guaranteed ) if the firm deem them to be outstanding in their paralegal capacity whilst working at the firm. Any media/employment law interest/work experience or exposure is an advantage. Candidates should also possess the following skills/attributes: • keen attention to detail• able to demonstrate flexibility and commitment• able to prioritise workload and use initiative to solve problems • solid secretarial/organisational skills with typing speed of 50wpm+• good computer skills including Word and Excel with Sharepoint an advantage but not essential• good communication skills• a can-do attitude • organised and punctual• adaptable and prepared to take on previously un-tried tasks• flexible with regard to working outside normal working hours should business needs require MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Paralegal • proof-reading legal documents • preparation of completion bibles at the end of transactions • drafting of various agreements • generally assisting with legal transactions where possible • attending client meetings and deal closings from time to time • dealing with Anti-money Laundering checks (using Experian) • opening new matters and sending client care letters Secretarial • preparing, typing, amending and proofreading documents from manuscript and copy typing including letters, reports, legal documents (agreements etc), attendance notes, memos and emails • providing general administrative support to the department including creating and managing filing, ensuring all relevant documents are regularly sorted and filed and archived at the earliest opportunity • assisting in managing all incoming and outgoing communications • providing diary management and organisation of internal and external meetings including liaising with Reception on the booking of rooms etc • dealing effectively and politely with clients and others calling into the departments • preparing and sending monthly, quarterly or ad hoc bills on behalf of the associates and partners Please send your CV for immediate interview along with a covering letter stating why you feel you would be suitable for this role.
