Apply now Are you an ambitious, highly experienced Policy professional with a desire to make a real impact on familes who are affected by disease? Are you looking to join a collaborative team who will look to you to lead on policy development? Our client is looking to hire a Policy Manager who will have a vital role in ensuring that their mission becomes a reality. As well as leading on policy development, you will work closely with colleagues, including the Head of Policy and Campaigns, Research Manager and Public Affairs and Campaigns Officer, to identify and develop policy positions which help people with cancer and their families. You will have an excellent understanding of current health policy, preferably of cancer policy in particular, and how to create change. You will understand how policy is developed and implemented and how our client can maximise its impact. What will your day involve? Working with the Head of Policy and Campaigns and other relevant staff, proactively lead and manage policy development. Develop evidence-based policy positions which reflect the needs of people with blood cancer. Working alongside colleagues, ensure that our patient ambassadors and our networks of clinicians and nurses are included during policy development. To ensure effective collaboration with key teams within the organisation to ensure they are kept up to-date on the charity's key policy priorities and provide them with specialist advice and information regarding health policy and NHS structures when required. Work closely with the Head of Policy and Campaigns, Public Affairs Officer, Research Manager and Public Affairs and Campaigns Officer to maximise opportunities to influence national, regional and local NHS policy making on behalf of people with cancer. Ensure that our client has an accurate and usable set of data, facts and figures relating to blood cancer including managing our relationship with the Haematological Malignancy Research Network. Manage projects across the Directorate where needed. Develop relationships with peers in other related charities. Represent us at external events and networks. Provide effective line management to the Policy Officer This is a role where your policy making skills will have a significant and measurable reach and you will see the impact that you make.
