Post My Job Ltd

Job Overview
Apply now Power system engineer consultants: Are you a problem-solving power system engineer? Would you like to join the team in London to work on a range of challenging projects in UK, Ireland and in various places around the world? If so, then we would like to hear from you! A little bit about us: MPE is a consultancy company with offices in Germany (Tubingen and Kiel) and UK (London). We are quite young and have only coming up to our 5th birthday. In this time, we have quickly grown a reputation for delivering a wide range of technical services including: highly specialised EMT & RMS simulation studies, harmonic studies, grid integration of renewable energy expertise, electrical design, grid expansion planning, techno-economic studies, and general support, training and workshops. We always try to go that little bit further, so we deliver the best solution for our customers - this is really important to us. A little bit about you: We are looking for highly motivated expert problem solvers with experience of transmission, distribution or power system consultancy - specifically in the UK or Ireland. In particular we are interested in engineers with EMT & RMS simulation experience or those with design, earthing and protection experience. The main qualities we are looking for in our candidates include the following: coding ability, logical thinking, ability to break a complex problem into simple sub-tasks, power system knowledge, adapt at learning new simulation software packages, attention to detail, and the ability to write an awesome report. As these are so important to us please be aware that we will be testing these during the interview process for those lucky candidates who are invited for an interview! Therefore, please only apply if you can really deliver (as a small business it takes up so much time to go through applications which obviously don't fit…). A little bit about what you get: We offer a nice salary (yes really), relaxed working environment, job flexibility, a central London location (close to London Bridge, Waterloo, and Elephant & Castle), generous pension, 28 days off (plus bank holidays), and the opportunity to develop highly technical power system knowledge from a really diverse range of projects and clients (plus being part of a growing small business with our lack of 'red tape'). What you need to do: If you think you are the sort of engineer who is exactly what we are looking for then, please say hello and send us your CV. We would also like a covering letter showing us how you can meet the above 7 qualities. Finally, please also tell us your current and desired salary (completely confidential of course!). Please send as pdf via the apply button provided on the page. What happens next: If we like what we see in your application we will invite you to come for interview (or do one over Skype if that's easier). During the interview, we will discuss your application and get you to do some challenging exercises to demonstrate the 7 qualities we're looking for. Now, we normally get quite a lot of applications as it is so easy to apply these days (e.g. on LinkedIn). We try to respond to all of them, but if you don't hear from us within 1 week of the closing date then, sorry, but you haven't been selected for interview this time. If you have, then great! We look forward to meeting you…
