An opportunity has arisen to join the business based in its large hub in Kent, as General manager. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in management, P&L control, business growth, leadership and the coaching of staff. You will have detailed knowledge and experience working in fast paced transportation environment. Responsibilities: Guides and manages the depotOrganises, coordinates, supervises, and develops all on site activities to reach objectives Sales, productivity, profitability and control of regulations & environmental standardsTeam Leadership and management - communicating in an effective and timely manner, performance management of the team, motivating, training and development, conflict management, setting expectations and goals and guiding employees towards achieving the results Coaching and supporting the development of the team through formal and informal processes Defining training needs, identifying possibilities for career development of staffUnderstanding employees strengths and areas for improvementSales Development - Characterizes a market and its development potentialWorks with the commercial team to identify opportunities for developments in strategic segmentsIdentifies and uses sales optimizing sources or development opportunitiesCreates and monitors a budget - turn strategic orientations in your field of activity into budget priorities Estimates budget forecasts, verifies budget consistency and reliability, sets up resources for monitoring budget compliance, assesses return on investment for a program or projectConducts feasibility analysis - assesses the technical, commercial and financial feasibilityCost Control Assessment - Calculates costs and monitors marginsChange Management - Lead as necessary on change management programmesOrganisation and monitoring of suppliers / service providers - from start up Ensures the sites legal compliance with all customs regulationsEnsures the safety and security of the personnel, site and all goods in the supply chain Experience Required: Extensive background in leadership within the European Overland Transport industryproven leadership & staff coaching skillsSolid budgetary experience including cost management, P&L managementA history of achieving profit growth through effective management and sales / development of new & existing customers Should your application be successful, you will be contacted within 5 working days for a confidential discussion to establish your suitability.
