Apply now Opportunity for a senior Manager to play a key role within a commercial insurance division in Manchester - responsible for profitable business development n the North West (extending to the Midlands and Scotland area). As Regional Underwriting Manager the role will involve monitoring of account performance, control of underwriting standards, business development activity and ensuring quality of business. Responsibilities will include:Leading the development of tactical and strategic underwriting plans for the region.Monitoring the performance of accounts and lines of business, identifying under and over performance, implementing remedial and opportunity actions.Supporting other Managers, Business Developers and Underwriters on Broker business development activities and opportunities.Operating as the highest point of technical referral within the Region, having appropriate input into large and complex cases and dealing with case referralsMonitoring, organising and leading technical training, particularly Underwrite and controlling individual Underwriter authorities.Contributing to the development of individual branch and regional business plans. Candidates must have significant underwriting experience (with emphasis on Casualty), technical knowledge and understanding of General Commercial product lines and advanced leadership and trading skills. Also looking for excellent organisational and commercial skills, self-motivation, proven track record of developing and maintaining internal/external networks and ability to develop underwriting staff.
