The ideal Science teacher will be innovative, enthusiastic and passionate. The school is keen to secure an Science Teacher interested in joining their team as soon as possible or after the Easter break.You will be working with secondary aged children aged 11 - 16 years old who have a statement for Social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and can display traits of very challenging behaviour.Class sizes are small, possibly 7 - 10 students per classSupport in class is high, teaching assistants are almost 1:1 ratio.As a new member of staff you will be given guidance where required and there is always lots of support offered by other members of staff including SLT. Learning resources at the school are fantastic; and they are a purpose built school with phenomenal outside facilities as well as onsite Art and Music therapy rooms.This role may well suit an individual with SEN experience in a mainstream role or someone who has previous experience working in a PRU or behaviour unit or perhaps even a youth work background.The School does not struggle to recruit and do not find that they have a high staff turnover. They have worked with Prospero teaching for a number of years, they have entrusted this vacancy with us to ensure they appoint an Science teacher who is able to engage students, build rapport and set firm but fair boundaries.The role also offers the option of being permanent or on a contractual basis depending on the successful Science teacher expectations.The school and Prospero teaching endeavour to support your career at every stage.
