Apply now STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER Are you a Structural Engineer/Design Engineer ideally from a structural, tensile membrane background looking for the opportunity to join a company that focus on innovative product development? i2o are specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of tensile membrane structures and solar car ports and have a great reputation in the industry. We will be rapidly expanding in the coming year and need a Structural Design Engineer to add to our highly skilled team. This would suit someone who wants join an expanding company in a rewarding and varied role. Responsibilities Drawing using AutoCAD and Inventor - both 2D and 3D designs Designing new products for and development of existing core range Designing and developing tensile membrane structures for new markets Undertake detailed engineering design Ensuring service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget, developing a commercial awareness and beginning to manage financial aspects of projects. Working with our KTP Associate in the development of Tensile Membrane structures Project Management Conduct Client visits as and when required Report writing Provide advice and guidance on builds and projects Working to current codes of practice for steel and aluminium structures Essential Requirements: We are looking for an ambitious candidate possessing the desire to work with a team to develop and introduce new, innovative and safe products to the market. The ideal candidate will have the following: Experience with 2D and 3D CAD Experience of working with Tensile Membrane structures Background of Design within structural, scaffolding, tensile membrane or similar Solid foundation of experience of structural design engineering, ideally working with significant structures Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Good knowledge of current relevant standards, analysis and codes of practice Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a creative mind Proven ability to design structures Comfortable dealing with clients Needs to have chartered status or be working towards it so they can sign off on structural calculations.
