Apply now Role: Student Support & Welfare Officer (Year 9)Salary: £11-£13ph DOELocation: North West LondonDuration: On-going (Temp to perm for the right person)Client: Popular Secondary School and Sixth Form**UP TO DATE DBS IS ESSENTIAL** Aim: To be the first 'port of call' for students in all matters except those relating to teaching and learningTo be a key member of the pastoral teamsTo improve the effectiveness of year team -organisation through better communication with parents and outside agencies.To contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school Duties: Supporting Attendance; Punctuality; Registration; Health & Welfare Monitor attendance and punctuality across the year group and refer any causes for concern to the Pastoral Support Leader and produce reports where necessaryA daily check to ensure that all registers have been completed for each from in the Year Group. Follow up any errors or emissionsPhone/text parents of students who have first day absence.Keep a record of students in the Year Group who are late to school. Issue late slips and ensure that the correct procedures are followed with regards to Late Detentions for both the Year Team and the HeadteacherAdminister First Aid for and other welfare support to students Supporting the Year Calendar and Year Events Attend Parents Evenings and take the lead in setting up the hall and classrooms for the Parents EveningsAttend all formal meetings in relation to a student in the year group i.e. professionals meetings; reintegration meetings for students placed in the Curriculum Base Room; PSP meetings etc. Record the main action points agreed at these meetings..Be the first and immediate point of contact for parents for the year group in the school.Maintain and manage accurate student records and files.Co-ordinate all information received from the staff at the school, parents and outside agencies regarding individual students.Make arrangements for admissions and leavers documentation including the transfer of appropriate record files.Work with the Year Coordinator and Deputy Year Coordinator to enforce the school code of conduct with the year group and to deal with the administrative documentation and parental contact over such issuesWork with the Year Co-ordinator and Deputy Year Coordinator to enforce the school uniform code including the correct equipment for learning and the school plannerDevelop and maintain positive home/school links. Keep the Year Co-ordinator and Deputy Year Coordinator and any other relevant staff appraised of any relevant issuesEnsure that the Designated member(s) of staff is informed immediately and that the necessary paper work is ready for any referrals relating to child protection issuesProvide support during their examination and assessment periods as requiredCollate the data gathered through student and parent questionnairesProvide additional support to the Year team during special off-timetable days including looking after guests/arranging refreshments, etcAttend all Year Team meetingsSupport assemblies for the Year Team and help produce certificates/commendations as and when required in the calendarUndertake word processing and produce and process year group administrative documentation Responsibilities Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person(s)Be aware of and support differences and ensure equal opportunities for allAppreciate and support the role of other professionalsParticipate in training and professional development activities and programmes, and attend and participate in meetings as requiredParticipate in whole school events, outside of normal school hours on occasion, with due notice when the designated Year group is involvedAppreciate and support the role of other professionals, and establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies and professionalsContribute to the school's commitment to equality of access to opportunities to learn and develop for all studentsUndertake other responsibilities commensurate with the post under the instruction of the Headteacher or Governing Body of the schoolNB: If this company and position appeals to you then please email your CV to the below email quoting reference: in the subject header Advertised by Office Angels, Camden branch.
