Apply now Western Commodities are the largest importer of Dates in the UK and possibly Europe. We have a BRC Grade A+ factory in Willand, Devon, in between junction 27 and 28 of the M5 motorway. Our clients include all the major food groups in the UK, extending to Europe which accounts for 26% of our turnover. We own our site consisting of 3 units, 50,000 sq ft in total. We have nut free production space, gluten free and also nut processing areas. Our plan this year is to expand our fruit bar production, move in to nut roasting, cleaning, nut pastes, butters and other nut processing. The role of Technical Manager is becoming vacant shortly. We are looking for a production orientated person. Our food safety ethos is practical, backed up by strong systems. Our technical manager needs to know what's in the box, know our customers and know what they want in the box. We employ 40+ staff 20 of whom are in production. There are 2 QA assistants. The factory starts at 0600 and runs 4 days per week on a 10.5 hour shift. Friday is catch-up day. The technical manager is required to be on site during production hours. Friday subject to requirements. Salary £36k per annum. 5 weeks holiday including statutory public holidays.
