Current displays tell the story of the tank in the 20th and 21st century, from its inception in 1915 to the war in Afghanistan. The entire collection has Designated Status. This is an exciting opportunity to work in The Tank Museum Workshop as a Vehicle Technician (Team Leader) at a time of major development of the workshop facility. We are currently recruiting two Vehicle Technician Team Leaders. One position will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the regular running fleet and the other for the maintenance, conservation and restoration of the historic vehicle collection both running and static. Both roles will be primarily responsible for the supervision of workshop projects ensuring they are carried out to a high standard and delivered on time. The post holder will be expected to supervise a team of Vehicle Technicians and to deputise for the Workshop Manager when required. The successful candidates will have NVQ level 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent and the relevant health & safety qualifications necessary to a workshop operation. You must have experience in maintaining and repairing tracked armoured vehicle systems and sub-systems, implementing operating and safety standards and supervising a team.
